Dian Sastrowardoyo


Diandra Paramita Sastrowardoyo (born March 16, 1982 in Jakarta, Indonesia) -- more popularly known as Dian Sastro or Dian Sastrowardoyo -- is an Indonesian model and actress.

In 1996, she was the cover girl of Gadis, a teen magazine in Indonesia. She later became popular as Daya, the protagonist in Pasir Berbisik (Whispering Sand). Dian finally kick-started her career on the big screen with a starring role in the boxoffice hit (In Indonesia and Malaysia) Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (AADC) (What's Up With Love? (film)). Since then she has established herself as one of Indonesia's most bankable actresses, starring in films such as , Banyu Biru, Ungu Violet and Belahan Jiwa. as well as foreign movies like the Malaysian produced, Puteri Gunung Ledang

Her recent (as of March 2007) television appearances include playing Raya in Dunia Tanpa Koma and a brief stint as the host of the game show Kuis Super Milyarder Tiga Milyar.

Dian Sastrowardoyo latest film titled Fana: The Forbidden Love, Dalton Alka Cinema production, a film company from Turkey. Fana scheduled to appear early December 24, 2010, the day commemorating the Tsunami disaster in Aceh in 2004, because of love-themed film banned in the mainland of Aceh, before and after the 2004 tsunami disaster. In the film, "Dian Sastrowardoyo" tested her acting skill was so extreme that she had to play characters Gayo, a Muslim transeksualis and blind, who must love her own brother, Azzam, who was played by handsome actor, Dude Harlino. In addition to the Dude Harlino, Dian also be paired again with the senior actress Christine Hakim and senior actor Deddy Mizwar.

Other Dian latest film is Cintaku Di Kabut Toba or Love In Fog Toba, the famous director Chaerul Umam. In this film, Dian will be paired again for the fourth time with the actor Nicholas Saputra, after they scored a huge success by "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?", "3 Doa 3 Cinta", and "Drupadi". "Cintaku Di Kabut Toba" will story of Seruni, a famous actress, who ran away from the noisy world of entertainment noise, to a remote village in Toba, North Sumatra. Her meeting with Samosir, who was played by Nicholas Saputra, changing drastically Seruni life. They then fell in love. However Seruni suddenly disappeared, and returned to Jakarta without saying good-bye to Samosir. Apparently Seruni had Alzheimer's disease. They later reunited ten years later in very different conditions
